COURBET AND THE MODERN LANDSCAPE
Music from the Ice Forest for voice and percussion was commissioned in 2006 by the Walters Art Museum in Baltimore, MD. The music was composed to evoke a particular season of Courbet's landscapes; it was recorded in the studio at the Peabody Institute, and set up on a continuous loop which played throughout the 5 month-long exhibit, "Courbet and the Modern Landscape" curated by Eik Kahng. The recording features Michael Compitello, percussion and Amy Kirsten, voice.
